| yeah, i met mitch in person and when he opened his hood there were several tools left in there from when he was working on it before hand. so, right there i KNEW i'd never let him work on my Z. i mean, accidents happen. but if you're a "professional" how do you leave (not one, but several) tools around the engine bay? if he was just a normal member it'd be differant story, over on 3zc people bow down to him like he's a Z god. in my eyes i think he's "over-rated". but it's only MY opinion.
i'm not bashing him, or his business. but there's always secrets that are kept in, and eventually let out. buying an ebay part, and reselling it as your own is perfectly fine, it is a pretty good quality product (shifter) it's good for you, cause you make a quick 100$, sucks for the ones who bought it when it can be bought for 100$ cheaper. but, that's how business life is. but to get all defensive when it's out in the open, is childish. what he's doing isn't "wrong" because people need to make money. he's not scamming anyone being how people do get their parts. (like eric said, no problems with the transaction) i can understand why he started the thread- to let others save a few bucks that he didnt get to. one way to resolve this: weigh e-bay shifter & amz shifter. if it's made out of a differant material the weight should be differant, if they weigh the same an educated guess would be they're the same. (they look the same, they shift the same, they weigh the same)
